Three favourite Web comics on Webtoon

Hello fam! I know this post might not be the usual type of post I put up. However my life has been such a mess I needed something to unwind with, and without putting any effort in to it.

So I discovered Webtoon, which is a free app in the app store so you can get your hands on it easily.

My discover wasn’t the app itself, even though I was pretty surprised finding it, it was what I have found in it.

I found three comics on Webtoon that may help you unwind or just the distract you from your current problem so you could think straight afterwards. It does help if you wanna see things more clearly.

Side note : your mental health matters so don’t forget to relax in between situations. It is hard but possible.

This post might contain spoilers however I try to be as spoiler-free as possible.

So let’s continue… Shall we?

Lore Olympus: is a Web comic played in the Greek mythology. However there’s a twist. They are in today’s fashion (aka 21st century clothing) whereas the humans (mortals) are in still in early centuries (propably before Christ).

The artist chose one of the best legend to put in the main focus – in my opinion – which is the relationship between Hades and Persephone. I have to tell you this futuristic twist on their clothes and objects are pretty cool and the art style is pretty dope too. I recommend you to read it or at least give it a chance.

It is a romantic type of comic, which I am not really into usually, however this novel influenced me to look around a bit further.

This led me to…

Devil Is A Handsome Man : is also a romantic novel however it is full of mysteries and unclear scenes that keeps you there because you wanna know what exactly happened.

However, at first, I thought it was one of many web comics… But I refused to stop reading so I kept reading.. And thank god I did because it became so exciting after chapter 5 or 4 so I just couldn’t stop I finished this comic within a day (just like the previous comic).

It is also in the romance category however I think it also should be classed as fantasy, mystery or detective category because there are a lot of dots to connect.

If you a person who likes strong female characters as a main character I recommend this for you. Our main character, Xo – short for Xolia – is trying to find out who she really is and who exactly was she.

After this I wanted something different, no too much but different enough to not finish it within a day…

… And I found…

Love Advice from The Great Duke of Hell

I know this is a mouthful but this one leans into more of fantasy and comedy category. It is still romantic but in a different way.

It is a notice me sempai situation but it’s a guy “chasing” after his crush. Our main character is into occult for this reason and one day he successfully summons the Great Duke of Hell, which I can tell, not many mortals are capable of.

Without going into much detail and spoiling it for you (the title is enough spoiler imo), there are going to be scenes where you may feel awkward, or find it funny or just shake your head. It’s not exactly a comedy piece but I’ll admit it can be funny at times.

I love Web comics because I know it is hard drawing digitally and looking at the different between a newer chapter and an older chapter, seeing how much their art style improved over making the chapters feels me with joy and it is fascinating to see.

These people have a particular style that also pulled me in on reading there work. For me, it takes more than just a great art style to pull me in on the story. You won’t regret reading these however these are not for everyone.

Note: I am not sponsored by any of these artist who created these comics. Nor is Webtoon.

Skincare gems part 2

Hello fam! I thought do a second part on this topic because I might have found some dupes if you do not wanna spend much on a moisturiser or you’re just simply in a tight budget and of course some higher priced products.

Let’s continue then!

Superdrug Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 moisturizer and serum

This little fella might just be a dupe for Tarte’s drink of H2O moisturizer. It is also super light weight and has a touch of kiwi scent to it. I used this multiple times and it never failed me nor my face! Obviously if you have a very sensitive skin like my boyfriend I wouldn’t recommend you to put it close to your eye area. – long story, you don’t wanna know. 😅

I also have sensitive skin but I didn’t have any reaction he experienced. However it was his first time ever trying something like this out.

FYI: he is even allergic to his favourite hair gel but still keeps using it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Aloe Vera gel

You don’t have to buy the plant itself if you don’t want to however they do grow fast. I have both the plant and some in the tube. I use aloe vera for my skin, stretch marks, my scalp and my hair. It gives my curls back that I straightened out over the years. It is not a magical wonder product but if you keep using it, it might give you your curls back.

E.l.f eye refresh roller

This is a life saver for me because if my sleep pattern is disturbed even if it is just a tiny bit it shows on my face and under eye area… So thank you e.l.f for saving my under eye area.

Before the first use, I rolled it on my neck to see if it would cause any irritations, which it didn’t howere you need to make sure to do a patch test first just incase.

Superdrug Vitamin C booster drops

I know it might sound like I have a sponsorship with superdrug but in reality I actually don’t! If I did I would have said so!

About the product. For a booster it is really light weight and my skin sucked it up quickly even when I used other moisturizer before, usually my skin does not let everything in itself so for me this was a good sign. It has a nice scent however it is minimal so you will not be irritated by it!

I have been using this product for a couple of days now, my skin is moisturised but it is easier to keep a skin of a 22-year-old hydrated than restore the hydration of someone’s skin who is in their 50s.

Which gave me an excellent idea and opportunity to try this product on my mother’s face and we will see the results in 2 weeks. If we will see some.

FYI: I personally use this for my uneven skin tone.

Skincare essentials for combination skin.

If you have combination skin then you might just feel me and my situation.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional makeup artist nor a dermatologist. Test the products on your neck before using them on your face.

I have combination skin, but it is so combination, my dry patches have oily patches, and my oily patches have dry patches. Also large pores and breakouts – if something dirty touches my face, and the sweat also a trigger for me to have breakouts too.

Found some products that might just be good for you as well as it was for me and these products also can be used for any other skin types! Good, isn’t it?

For my routine I use a three step rule I found on the Internet. You can also add additional steps if you want to.

The thee steps are, cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise. Sounds easy, right?

Cleanse

Cleansing is important because you need to wash off the day’s muck off your face especially if you live in a big city. Why? Because the pollution from the exhaust of the vehicles are cause of clogged pores and uneven skin tone.

I personally use Boots own Cucumber facial toner because

  • It’s for all skin types
  • Affordable
  • It is gentle
  • Effective
  • Has a cooling effect

I love this toner and it is very good for the price as well and I’d rather splurge on moisturizer and sheet masks than toners and exfoliants.

Exfoliate

In oder to have less breakouts you need to get rid of dead skin on your face and dead skin can clog up your pores too.

To exfoliate my skin I usually use a regular lip scrub or a homemade sugar scrub because they can do the trick and an exfoliant do not have to be expensive to be effective! But this is my take on it.

Additional step: if I want to be extra I tend to use some peel off mask or a clay mask before using a moisturiser.

Moisturise

This is my favourite step because this is when I can use the products I like to splurge on!

My skin gets irritated quickly after a strong cleanse and dry my skin out but this little bad boy saves it all the time.

H2O skin drink by tarte is so far the best moisturiser I have ever tried. It is light weight, minimal scent, and leaves my skin radiant. However if you don’t like to spend too much money on a moisturiser I would recommend you to either try a travel size pack by Tarte or use a moisturiser by Superdrug because it shouldn’t cost an arm and leg to have a healthy skin.

Additional step: just before using a moisturiser I use an anti-spot gel by e.l.f which can be drying on the skin I would definitely recommend to do this before you use any moisturiser or sheet mask.

A treat for the eyes

After I finished my using my moisturiser I refresh my eyes with the e.l.f Eye refresh roller so I could wake up fresh and bright in the morning. I also take it with me wherever I go.

FYI: this is just my way of dealing with combination skin.

Natural deodorants

Hello fam! Everyone loves to smell fresh and good but some spray products might contain a few ingredients that might not be so good for your underarms.

I collected some brand products that offer natural deodorant/s.

Please note that these deodorants don’t stop you from sweating. You shouldn’t stop yourself from sweating. 👇🏻👇🏻

https://uk.lush.com/article/what-deodorant-taking-sting-out-body-odour

Tarte Clean Queen Vegan deodorant

This is such a huge deodorant it took me nearly a year to use this up and I was also using other products too to try. It is a clay deodorant with lavender scent and it smells amazing also lasts long when you put it on.

Only problem is you might need to take a travel sized version of it with you because it isn’t antiperspirant so you will need to reapply it a bit often. For the scent I get from it I think it is worth it.

Clean Queen deodorant also conditions your underarms, at least that what I noticed, I could use it after a bad shaving rash without my skin getting irritated by it and the rash was gone after hours. – don’t use it as a rash cream though! It is not designed to be that!

Avalon Organics

I love this deodorant, it’s a liquid type, however I still have mixed feelings about it… The reason is it doesn’t last long, the scent does however the liquid is not. Scent is very lemony and for hours I smelt like a lemonade and it makes me feel clean too.

Lush natural deodorant in T’eo

I love this so much. It might sound expensive (£6.50 for 90g) however this lasts the longest I have tried. I really love lemon and lemongrass so this is a go to me and also has tea tree oil in it which I guess makes it antibacterial.

The only down fall to this product though is you can’t use it if you just freshly shaved your armpit because it can irritate your armpit.

FYI: this product is well loved so I do not want to show something in a really bad shape.

Skincare gems

Sometimes there are so many products that can be overlooked because there are just so many to choose from. I’m making this post to introduce a few things I have found or to help you explore something new.

Let’s get started!

Farmacy Coconut Gel hydrating Sheet mask and Green Clean cleansing balm

I came across this brand on Beautylish because when I ordered an item they put a sample in the package by Farmacy.

I got their Green Clean make up meltaway cleansing balm and I really liked it so I ordered the sheet mask above. I bought one for my mum as well. It was so packed with the serum we had to use the both side of the sheets… After the first use we put them in containers (not in the same container!!) and the next day we used it again.

My mum is over 50 so it really showed that she used a moisturiser and it plumped her skin up she really looked younger. I never thought I would say that to her ever but it did work.

I apologise for not having a picture of the sheet mask I completely forgot to document it so, that’s an oopsie on my part, sorry! 😅

Tarte – drink of H2O hydrating boost moisturizer

This is on the pricey side but this product is amazing. It is light weight, minimal scent and it really hydrates my skin after a heavy cleansing “ritual”.

I got my H2O moisturizer in a value pack, because I wasn’t sure if I would like it or hate it with a passion, but I usually buy a set of minis because I like to explore more for my money and it works out cheaper sometimes.

E.l.f Acne fighting spot gel

I love this product because it works quickly, the products I have used before didn’t work this fast as this did. I can just roll it on a spot before going out (on a no makeup day or before a tinted moisturizer) or using it in my routine before bed. It is also sleek so I don’t have to worry about it taking too much space in my bag. Only problem is the fact that it can be a bit drying on the skin so this is why I use it before using any type of moisturizer, and I do recommend doing that way.

Witch hazel

Any brand of Witch Hazel is great for cleaning your skin or wounds. I use it when my dumb ass pops a few spots that should have been left alone…

However it does help in case you mess up your face because you’re a popaholic. It shrinks the spot and the scar if you popped your spot. Sometimes when I get really bad breakouts and the sun is out I put the solution on and let the witch hazel and the sun work their magic.

Before buying any of the products mentioned above I would recommend you to look up the ingredients and/or do a patch test on your neck.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional makeup artist nor a dermatologist. I am not sponsored by any of the brands mentioned I bought and buy products with my own money.

Worst dry shampoo I have ever tried so far…

I usually do not like to bash products nor brands and I like to find positive things about products but this monstrosity made my hair have the worst day of its life…

Before I jump right into the cons of this product I would like to state that even though my hair felt fuzzier than a raccoon’s butt hole, and possibly looked like one, it does do the job. I had an “OK” looking hair for several days. But only on the top of me head.

My ends got so dry it started breaking… When you spray your hair on top you would expect some of the spray to get on your ends.. But this just dried the living spirit out of it…

I’ll admit it does give some volume but the volume doesn’t make up for the bird nest like creature on my head…

You might wonder what exactly is this product?

Well let me show you the budget friendly curse for the hair.

The Asda dry shampoo! If I will be complete honest with you I have to tell you that this product could be improved. As much as I hate the fact of this drying the sh*t out of my hair. In fact my hair didn’t even want me to use this product so much it didn’t get greasy for a week… But this product in fact can be better because it doesn’t have a bad smell however it is really harsh on the hair especially if you have combo or dry ends.

Until that happens I would recommend some other products instead.

Morrisons dry shampoo is a good alternative for this and it has the same price tag as the product above. Which is £1.50!

Superdrug dry shampoo is the most inexpensive alternative it ranges from £1-1.50 and they have amazing range too.

Batiste is on the more expensive side but I love how light weight the powder is on the hair however it runs out quickly. If you don’t wanna buy anything else but Batiste then I would recommend to buy it from Superdrug because it is cheaper there. The price may differ depending on how much mls you buy.

Mummies and Gaming

Showing the graphics of Life is Strange.*

As much as you might hate your partner for playing his xbox or PlayStation, you gotta admit it sure looks fun.

Have you ever played with the thought of playing games just for fun? May be to distract yourself because your worries getting really into your head? Why not just give it a chance?

Sure it might pop some questions in your mind such as : What happens to my child when I am playing? And the chores? Etc…

You can always play whilst your child is asleep or ask someone to look after your baby until you play a certain amount of time, or play after you have done your chores. Sure it is easier said than done but I managed to play and unlock some achievements and unwind whilst my son also watching me in the process. So instead of whining, you might just try to enjoy yourself in the process.

You might have heard of the games I am about to mention but first you might need a few essentials such as an Xbox or a PlayStation. You also need to know what type of games you might be into. Is it a multiplayer or single player? Is it an open world game or linear?? Before you get confused about it I will list a few open world games and a few linear games too. Open world games:

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open world game with a lot of interesting side quests, it is a good game if you like slaying monsters, humping bitches and do some detective work. It also has the butterfly effect which means your decisions have an impact on the story and the communities within the game. If you’d really like to get your money’s worth I would recommend buying the game of the year edition. It is truly an amazing game with good graphics.
  • Assassins Creed Origins: it is also an open world game, I personally haven’t played with this one yet but I had to choose from all of the Assassins Creed games I would choose to play this, because it does have amazing graphics and visuals. It might have to much to explore but then I still haven’t explored everything in the witcher 3 so who really am I to judge?
  • Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is a kids’ game and it might just the kick you need if you just started playing games. I own this game and my only problem with this is the colours. Man if you hate vivid colours ; which to be honest are not a problem usually for me; then this game might not be the game for you but this game is fairly easy, colourful and cute, also easy to control.. Most of the times.

Linear games:

  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy is also a kids game with a semi-open and I used to play it as a child before they made this excellent remake. It looks appealing and has everything you need to get started with games too and also easy to control. I get really giddy just talking about it.
  • Rayman: this is also a linear game and I also used to play it as a child (on my PlayStation) but it wasn’t as close to my heart as Spyro was however I did enjoy it. I do recommend it though because you have nothing to loose with this game.
  • Life is Strange: if you want something you can relate to or don’t know how to get started I recommend buying Life is Strange because it is a role playing game and it helps getting rid of anxiety of playing games, which I do get anxiety and panic attacks <- quick insight into my blog name – whilst playing especially when you need to be stealthy and this game just eased it for me I do not have that much of a problem anymore. The graphics are good but some times it lacks when it comes to certain aspects of the game, such as trees and secondary characters but all in all a good story and game. Your choices also have an impact on the storyline.

Disclaimer: Please note that I am not a professional gamer nor I want to be one but I DO enjoy playing games and it is also a hobby for me when I don’t do my chores.
*The picture above is a screenshot from the game I bought.

Earning from home

As a newly mum or a mum-to-be, or even as a dad-to-be you might have had the question of how to go on from now?

Nowadays money is almost everyone’s problem in the first and second countries.

There’s always a way to get around thing, whether you’re working or on benefits. The way I survive is mostly canned food and doing tasks on 20cogs.

I don’t need to tell you about the multiple ways of making money from home I will just let one of my favourite sites, the humble penny, tell you that. Here’s the link to his website: https://thehumblepenny.com/85-ways-make-extra-money

What I would like to talk about is 20cogs. 20cogs is a website where you can fulfil simple tasks to earn money, and amount isn’t as small as £0.20 like other survey websites I have tried. The minium I have earned on a task so far was about £1.50. Bear in mind you can get different results depending on which offer you take as a task! I also would like to recommend that you read everything on the offers to avoid unpleasant experience. By the way I almost clicked on an offer where the website charges £5 a week so please do be careful and read everything! – Now you have been warned!

Like a coin this website has two sides as well as other things in life. So let’s look at the pros and cons.

Pros

  • You will earn more than on most of the survey websites out there.
  • The rewards can go up to £20
  • You get £10 when you first sign up.
  • You don’t need an education
  • You do not need to be 18 to use 20cogs
  • You can invite friends which then you can earn 5% everytime they earn with your link they use to get to the website

Cons

  • You need to complete all the 20 cogs to get paid
  • Some of the cogs need 30 days until they go from pending to completed
  • Some of the cogs only can be completed if you’re over 18 (such as lotto land)
  • You might need to spend a small amount to gain bigger amount

You can also earn some extra money if you have a little side hussle.

My side hussle is making jewellery but it is an active income which means I have to be active to earn money. I personally use 20cogs to pay for some of the equipment I need and it does make up for the days I missed making jewellery.

Just like many other things in the world this website is also not for everyone. I do recommend giving it a shot though because you do not have much to lose there. However you do need to do some extra reading to avoid confusion.
